Upper School Welcomes Alumna Corinne Foxx '12

On Monday, March 11, Sierra Canyon welcomed back esteemed alumna Corinne Foxx '12, an accomplished actress, model, philanthropist, and health advocate, for a special visit.

Corinne engaged with Upper School students, focusing on her advocacy work with the Endometriosis Foundation of America and their ENPOWR Project. This youth-centered initiative aims to provide comprehensive endometriosis education and menstrual health resources to students in Grades 9-12. Corinne and her team at EndoFound hope to empower students to take charge of their health and reduce the average 10-year delay to diagnosis. "When I was approached about EndoFound's ENPOWR program, I knew Sierra Canyon would be the perfect place for this curriculum," Corinne shared. "By expanding its health education to include vital menstrual health information, SC is blazing the trail for other schools to adopt this program. When I was a student at Sierra Canyon, I was unknowingly suffering from the symptoms of endometriosis. I felt passionately about bringing ENPOWR to my alma mater because I want to educate and empower current students to advocate for their health."

In addition to her work with EndoFound, Corinne also shared insights from her collaboration with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), where she actively raises awareness about anxiety and mental health issues. Following her presentation to the Upper School, Corinne hosted a small group session for our female student leaders, creating a nurturing space for them to share their experiences in an open discussion. She offered more insight into her personal journey, including her path to diagnosis and navigating its associated challenges. The hour-long exchange fostered meaningful connections within the group and encouraged all attendees to embrace leadership roles with resilience and determination.

Hannah L. '25 shared, "I loved meeting Corrine because she is so inspiring. The fact that she returned to SC to share her advocacy work with us shows how passionate she is about what she does. I really enjoyed speaking with her and learning about how she fights for the change she wants to see in women's healthcare and medicine through EndoFound, as well as in mental health awareness through NAMI. Corrine is a great example of a powerful woman and a change-maker, which is why it was so incredible to talk with her."

Sierra Canyon extends a heartfelt thanks to Corinne for her inspiring visit and dedication to empowering the next generation of Trailblazers.
