Out-of-State College Night at Sierra Canyon

The Sierra Canyon College Counseling Department recently hosted its first-ever Out-of-State College Night, providing students with valuable insight into attending colleges outside their home state.

This event was an engaging and effective way to expose our 10th and 11th Grade students and their families to over 45 colleges and universities nationwide. Each institution delivered a brief overview of its unique offerings, ranging from small liberal arts colleges to large public universities. Following the presentations, the evening concluded with a College Fair, allowing students and their families to engage directly with representatives from each institution. These interactions facilitated personalized discussions, whether delving deep into academic programs, extracurricular opportunities, or campus culture.

Sierra Canyon's dedicated College Counselors are pivotal in guiding students through the college admission process. By assisting students in identifying their strengths and interests, conducting thorough research, and refining their college choices, the counseling team empowers them to make well-informed decisions about their future academic endeavors. Sinead S. '25 shared, "The Out-of-State College Night was an amazing opportunity to see lots of very different schools. It was interesting to hear from each one. It showed me many different options and helped me begin to see what I want in a school. It was great to meet with the college reps and to learn about their programs."

The College Counseling Department is proud to offer opportunities like the Out-of-State College Night to ensure our students' next learning home is the best fit for them.
